Out singer Sam Smith has revealed that he is shifting the release date of his highly anticipated third album To Die For to a later date.
The album was slated to be released on May 1, but pre-order links reveal you can purchase the album on June 5. As far as I know, Sam is the only artist to move the release date of his album, but I’m curious if Lady Gaga (who is under self-quarantine) will do the same, since her sixth album Chromatica is scheduled to drop on April 10.
Personally speaking, you can release your music without having to promote it traditionally. People aren’t buying physical copies of music anymore, and you can’t get the Coronavirus through iTunes or Spotify. And if you want to promote your music without having to do the traditional interview, since the planet is under quarantine, why not host an online Q&A via Instagram or Facebook live?
