And the hits just keep on coming. With the Met Gala recently announcing that they are indefinitely postponing their annual event due to Coronavirus concerns, now comes word that the iHeartRadio Music Awards have been put on hold due to overwhelming concerns of this disease.
The event, which was set to be hosted by R&B/pop singer Usher, was supposed to air on March 29th at the Shrine Theater in LA, but since we still have no idea what’s going on in regards to the Coronavirus except for the media and the current administration creating mass hysteria, it has been put on the back burner. Quite frankly I’m okay with that, since majority of these award shows suck, and most of the performers set to win are mediocre at best.
Here is a statement from an iHeartMedia rep:
“The safety of our guests, employees, artists and partners is our main priority. iHeartMedia and Fox will plan to reschedule at the appropriate time and will provide more information and relevant updates as they become available. Refunds are being issued to ticketed guests.”
The event will be rescheduled, but no word on an exact date.
